Enjoy these festive and delicious Christmas Watermelon Trees this holiday season
Ingredients
-
4 Pieces of Watermelon Sliced
-
4 Pieces of Fetta Block Cheese
-
A couple of Fresh Mint sprigs
-
Christmas Tree Cutter (mines from my Biz Bake it by Giovannellis)
-
Small Star Cookie Cutter
-
Small Skewers, I used wooden ones but any work
Directions
Slice your watermelon thinner than your cookie cutter, see notes. Then using your cookie cutter cut out the Christmas tree shapes. As many as you like, for this one I used 4 slices and got 4 trees my watermelon wasn’t super wide
Cut out the Fetta Stars, you can slice the fetta in half if it is too thick but don't make it too thin as it will break see notes
Pop the fetta onto a skewer, through the middle and then into the top of the tree making sure the skewer goes in straight and doesn't come out the sides. I put mine closer to the front so that the star looked closer as well.
Add the mint in a diagonal shape, you can roll it a little just lightly if it is too thick
Serve and eat right away, you could make these in advance but I would put the mint on last and be mindful that fetta doesn't last days on end after it has been opened so I prefer to make them fresh

Recipe Note
- When slicing your watermelon don't cut it thicker than the thickness of your cookie cutter as it will be really hard to push the cookie cutter through. You want the thickness of the cookie cutter to be thicker than the watermelon, so have a look before you slice the watermelon
- With the fetta depending how thick it is you may need to slice the fetta in half to make it thinner as you want to follow the same step as the watermelon and make it thinner than the cookie cutter. But don't go too thin as when you add in the skewer it will break
- With the left overs don't throw them away the watermelon will look super cute with some berries added too the cut out for a festive snack. Any left over fetta is perfect for a salad or some toast
