These are one of my favourite burgers to make at home, the crispy chicken with fresh lettuce just goes perfectly together. I cook the chicken in a pan so it is simple and easy to make and no deep frying is needed

Crispy Chicken Burgers – Easy, Golden & Better Than Takeaway

Ingredients

  • 1 Chicken Thigh approx 100g

  • 1 Egg

  • Approx. ¼ Cup of Bread Crumbs

  • ¼ Tsp paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and oregano

  • 1 Tbsp of Parmigiano or Parmesan

  • 1 Fresh Crispy Bread Roll

  • 1-2 Lettuce Leaves Chopped

  • 1 Slice of Cheddar Cheese

  • ½ Tbsp Nandos Peri Peri Sauce

  • 1 Tbsp of Mayonnaise

  • Approx. 2 Tsp of Olive Oil for cooking chicken

Directions

  1. 🍔 Use a mallet, rolling pin or even a heavy pan to flatten your chicken out with cling wrap (plastic wrap) over the top so it cooks easier & sits on your burger better

  2. 🍔 Add your herbs to your bread crumbs on a plate & once added give it a good mix. You can change up the herb flavour if you like

  3. 🍔Beat your Egg for your egg wash and dunk youe chicken in the egg wash to coat chicken, let it drip for a second when you take it out & then dunk into the crumbs making sure it covers all the chicken, you can flip it around and use your hands to push the crumbs in a bit if needed. It should stick easily with the egg wash

  4. 🍔Heat your pan to a medium heat (not too hot) and add your chicken with about 1 Tsp of olive oil, cook until until crispy and the chicken is cooked through about 5 mins each side. You may need to add the other 1 tsp of oil when you flip it over to cook the other side I don’t shallow fry mine personally I just add a bit of oil to the pan but you can if you like more of a crispiness. You could also cook this in an airfryer.

  5. 🍔 Cut your lettuce into strips, cheese into slices if your not using pre-sliced cheese and cut your bun in 1/2, I keep it fresh not toasted when the bread roll is fresh. If it isn’t as fresh you can lightly the toast the buns

  6. 🍔 Add a tiny but of mayo each side of the bun or butter if you prefer. I prefer mayo personally but pick what you like.

  7. 🍔 Add your cooked chicken then Nandos Peri Peri sauce on top of the chicken, cheese, lettuce & mayo on top then your bun lid and enjoy
