These are one of my favourite burgers to make at home, the crispy chicken with fresh lettuce just goes perfectly together. I cook the chicken in a pan so it is simple and easy to make and no deep frying is needed

Ingredients
-
1 Chicken Thigh approx 100g
-
1 Egg
-
Approx. ¼ Cup of Bread Crumbs
-
¼ Tsp paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and oregano
-
1 Tbsp of Parmigiano or Parmesan
-
1 Fresh Crispy Bread Roll
-
1-2 Lettuce Leaves Chopped
-
1 Slice of Cheddar Cheese
-
½ Tbsp Nandos Peri Peri Sauce
-
1 Tbsp
Directions
🍔 Flatten your chicken out so it cooks eaiser & sits on your burger better
🍔 Add your herbs to your bread crumbs, I added paprika, garlic powder, onion powder & parmesan/parmigiano and oregano but pick what you like. Once added give it a good mix
🍔Beat your Egg for your egg wash and coat chicken in egg wash & then crumbs
🍔Cook in your pan until crispy and the chicken is cooked about 5 mins each side, I don’t shallow fry mine I just add a bit of oil to the pan but you can if you like more of a crispiness
🍔 Cut your lettuce into strips, cheese into slices if your not using pre-sliced cheese and cut your bun in 1/2, I keep it fresh not toasted when the bread is fresh
🍔 Add a tiny but of mayo each side of the bun or butter if you prefer. I prefer mayo personally
🍔 Add your cooked chicken then Nandos Peri Peri sauce, cheese, lettuce & mayo on top then your bun lid and enjoy

FAQ's & Notes
Q: How do I make crispy chicken without deep frying?
A: Pan-frying in a little oil works perfectly! Use a non-stick pan and cook the crumbed chicken until golden and cooked through about 4–5 minutes per side. You can also cook this in the oven or airfryer and it should go golden brown without deep frying it.
Q: What’s the best cut of chicken for burgers?
A: Chicken thigh fillets give the juiciest result, but you can also use breast fillets, just slice evenly and don’t overcook.
Q: Can I prep the chicken ahead of time?
A: Absolutely. Crumb your chicken and refrigerate it (covered) for up to 24 hours before cooking. You can also freeze the crumbed chicken raw as well to make it easier for yourself
Q: Can I change the toppings and sauce crispy chicken burgers?
A: Yes make it your own classic lettuce, cheese and mayo with the Peri Peri sauce work great but try slaw, pickles, or burger mayo for a flavour twist!
Q: Do I need to measure the herbs?
A: No not at all I usually just add a little bit of each and don't really measure, just don't add too much otherwise it will overpower the flavour
Q: What type of bun do I use?
A: As you can see I have used a crispy bread roll with sesame seeds that you can get from most local bakeries. I like to get these fresh the day I am making them, I think it tastes better when the outside it crispy but the inside is still soft. But you can use any bread roll you like for these any of your favs will do.
