This toasty sandwich or grilled cheese for our American friends is so delicious and such a quick way to mix up toasty sandwich lunches. It is a quick and easy lunch option as well
Ingredients
- 🥪 2 Tbsp of Tomato Paste
- 🥪 A mix of herbs, italian, garlic, onion simple add a little of each I don’t measure I just add a bit of each
- 🥪 Salt and Pepper to taste
- 🥪 Approx 7 pieces of small salami or a couple bigger pieces. Use any you like
- 🥪 3-4 slices of mozzarella not too thick
- 🥪 3 basil leaves
- 🥪 2 pieces of bread I prefer sourdough
Directions
- 🥪 Mix your herbs and tomato paste together with salt & pepper
- 🥪 Butter the outside or both pieces of bread then add 1/2 the tomato paste to each inside piece so butter one side tomato paste the other
- 🥪 Add Salami, Mozzarella and basil to the tomato paste side & pop the bread on top
- 🥪 Pop into a frypan with the butter side facing down on a medium heat you don’t want it too hot or it will just burn and not melt your cheese.
- 🥪 Cook away about 5 minutes on each side, this will depend on your bread type, thicknesses etc. If your using a sandwich bread it may take less time. Flip over after the 5 minutes if it golden enough
- 🥪 Cook away until cheese is melty and outside is golden (not burnt)

Recipe Note
- You can mix up the herbs for these if you like as well and you can even add a dash of lemon to the tomato paste as well if you like
- You can use normal tasty or cheddar cheese if you like instead of mozzarella
