Ingredients
-
85g of Cocoa Pops (Cocoa Krispies)
-
100g of marshmallows (see note 1)
-
20g of Butter
-
2 squares of chocolate melted(optional)
Directions
Line a 20cm tray with baking paper. You can you use a little butter to help it stick it down
Add your butter and marshmallows to a pot on a lower-medium heat on your stove top to melt them. Don’t let it get too hot or it can burn & mix continuously as you melt it
Once melted add your cocoa pops and mix together well until they are all coated
Pop into a lined tray 20cm tray, line with a little butter first then baking paper to help it not move. Once you pop it in the tray push down to a even layer with your hands or the back or a spoon i find using my clean hands then a spoon best. Add over your melted chocolate, just use a spoon and move it back & forth
Once cooled and set cut with a knife into pieces and store in an airtight container

FAQ's and Notes:
- If you don't have mini marshmallows you can use bigger ones just chop them up a little to make them melt quicker and you may need to melt them a little longer to completely melt. You can also use coloured ones as well. Just use what you have available or can find it honestly doesn't matter as long as it is marshmallows.
Q. How do I store these?
A. You can store these in an airtight container, they don't need to be refrigerated. They will last up to about 1-2 weeks but personally I like to make my version a smaller one and eat it within a few days rather than a bigger batch they last longer. I think they taste nicest when they are fresher. So I prefer to just make a fresh batch once it is finished and eat within a few days
Q. Can I add what I like on top?
A. Yes, definitely you can add anything you like, you could do sprinkles, choc chips, sprinkles, nuts etc (depending on lunchbox rules) anything you like
Q. Can I add yogurt on top, just like the ones from the supermarket? (A q's from Tik Tok)
A. You would need to make a yogurt glaze to go on top with icing sugar. Yogurt on it's own unfortunately wouldn't work as it won't set and will make it go soggy. The yogurt on top of the store-bought ones is actually a yogurt compound not straight yogurt
Q. Can I make a vanilla version?
A. You certainly can do, I have a recipe up on a blog here
