The Homemade Christmas Guide

A little more organised, a little less last-minute Christmas cooking.

Christmas in the kitchen can involve a lot of juggling. Working out what to buy, what can be made ahead, what needs to be cooked on the day and how to get everything ready at the right time.

I've been putting together a practical guide to help make all of that a little easier and also help your budget go further with some little shopping tips.

So, what is a Homemade Christmas Guide?

It's a collection of helpful information, cooking guides, tips and planning tools to help you feel more organised in the lead-up to Christmas.

It's about knowing what you can get done ahead of time, making the most of your freezer, understanding cooking times and having a better idea of what needs to happen and when.

Whether you're cooking the whole Christmas meal, bringing a few dishes to share or getting organised with your Christmas baking, it's there to help you work through it all.

A little of what you'll find

Getting organised before Christmas:

From knowing what pantry staples to buy early to getting your shopping sorted, there are plenty of little things you can do ahead of time.

Making things ahead:

What can be frozen, which ingredients can be prepared in advance, and which dishes can be made days before Christmas.

Cooking on the day:

Helpful cooking times for meat and vegetables, understanding oven temperatures, resting meat and working out how to get everything ready around the same time.

Planning your Christmas food:

A place to bring your menu, shopping and cooking plans together, so you have a clearer idea of what you're making and when.

A little about why I created it

I love getting organised for Christmas, especially when it comes to the food. Over the years, I've picked up lots of little ways to make things easier, from preparing ingredients ahead to freezing baking and planning out the cooking.

I wanted to bring all those things together in one place, so you don't have to figure it all out yourself.

Want to know when it's ready?
